About Us

The National Research Ethics Committee was created in 2001 to advise the Ministry of Health, Public Hygiene and Universal Health Coverage of Côte d’Ivoire on how to promote the protection of dignity and rights of research participants. But also, to evaluate the ethical considerations of the studies before their implementation.

Although research ethics and regulation in Côte d’Ivoire remain fragile, underdeveloped and fragmented, the country has received limited support to strengthen its national ethical and regulatory practices. The Côte d’Ivoire Integrity Building Initiative (CECaBI) is a consortium of different partners who plan to work together to transform ethical and regulatory practices in Côte d’Ivoire.
